Stupid Interior Color Scheme

Stupid Interior Color Scheme
I'm seen this on quite a few cars. Why is the interior say... Black, grey, blue, whatever up to door-height, and then the a-pillar, b-pillar, etc. plastic and headliner is a lighter color??? When I got my 323, I thought the interior was parted out or something, so I painted the plastic so it didn't look so gay... Now with my protege I've noticed the same thing, why the hell would they do that? It looks so queer!

They probably use the same mold for all the pillars for many different models of cars.....a car is made on an assembly line and if they have to stop the machine every two seconds to make a different color pillar mold then they waste money stopping production.....just a thought.
Why don't you call mazda and ask??
