Leather color Scheme

About to splash out for some new Katzkin leather seat covers and I'm having trouble picking a color scheme.

Looking for any and all suggestions. I have a 2002 Midnight blue Pro5.

I was thinking dark graphite for the outside but can't decide on insert color. My GF thinks the blue is tacky

Before you flame me I am whipped

Thanks for all your upcoming comments!

Tacky eh?

Sorry, but I really think that the graphite with blue inserts would rock! Or maybe dark graphite with light grey inserts if it doesn't clash with the rest of your interior.

But seriously, buy what you want, not what your girlfriend wants. If she was your wife...then I would say differently!

I agree! Thanks for the light grey suggestion. I think I'll try and match the color of the panels that surround the power window switches and so on..

I thought seriously about the blue insert but I'm torn between flashy and understated. I think the light grey is a good compromise. I'm also considering the seat heaters as leather in a Canadian winter might be a little chilly!

Thanks Karen!

Dave

PS I've never had a GF yet who wasn't able to clearly state her opinions.

I've always liked the line by Joni Mitchell :

"you don't like weak women you get bored too quick, and you don't like strong women 'cause they're hip to you tricks"

All one color looks good too. I have all black with my silver P5, and I have seen all black with the Midnight Blue, although dark graphite (I assume that is not quite black) would look slick too. Going all one color would be a bit more subtle and 'factory' looking.

I'd go for black/dark blue color scheme, since your car is midnight blue I think it would look badass. I want to get this for my car but I don't have the $ .

I'm still so partial to my black-n-yellow combo!

P.S. definitely splurge for the seat heaters! The leather gets oh-so-chilly on cold winter mornings!

Heres what i went with...just to add a little more color to the interior. I also wrapped several other interior pieces in yellow leather too.

Here's mine, it came from the dealer with the Katzkin package already installed:

I really like the yellow on the interior, but I still have the all black from the factory, and it seems like such a waste to me to just throw it out to get the yellow. I really want ti, but I think im going to wait until the current leather starts to weardown (if that ever happens). The door panels are another story, does katskinz offer those?

I think you can special order the door panels from Katzkin and install them yourself, or have a local shop do them. One of our local audio stores here does it pretty inexpensively.

Here is my 2002 Midnight Blue Mica P5 with dark charcoal grey/silver katzkins... I was thinking blue, but the blue doesnt even come close to matching the MBM color

Now that its actually getting warmer, the leather is starting to tighten up

i cant wait to get my interior done ... how much would these katzkins sets cost if i wanted door panels and all seats ... and then of course i would have to take it to an upholstery shop right ? ... u think a body shop can do this work? although they work mainly with the outside
