Question starter works, but no cranking only clicking!

finally got the starter back out because it wouldn't crank the motor over. brought it over to pep boys and it worked perfectly so im thinking it might be the battery because of the slow cranking before this problem.

however i also think it might be the starter switch or relay switch because we tried starting the mx3 with the help of another car and battery clamps and it never started.

anyone know if its the battery or a switch thats the problem?

Given that you could not start the car with a boost from another vehicle, that tends to vindicate the battery.

Did you try boosting the car with your battery disconnected - i.e. taking your battery out of the circuit? I suppose if your battery is really fried it might interfere with a boost...

Check your battery connection, look for massive amounts of corrosion. I've had this happen on another car.

actually there was SOME corrosion when i took the battery out. im going to have it checked and if it turns out ok, it was probably just a connection.

i should also add that the battery has juice in everything in the mx3 still worked and turned on. just never turned the motor over when clamped with another car.
