Question Slider vs. Switch ('01+)

Hopefully this makes sense, but in my '99 Pro, there is a slider switch whenever I want to change the airflow in the interior of the car (ie: recycle air, or fresh air).

I got to drive a P5 for a day while I had my car in for servicing, and I noticed in the P5, along with the newer sedan's as well, the switch is change to a nice button with a LED.

Although a small change, it gives the car interior a better look, doesn't look so cheap (I find the slider cheap looking). Does anyone know if this can easily be changed?

(in regards to the above picture, you can see the button on the right side. its long and flat, underneath the 3 round *****)

hey, that's my car!

personally, i think the switch is a little annoying. when you have the windshield defrosters on, it won't let you switch to internal recirculation, only fresh air recirculation. also, and i may be wrong, but i believe the switch and slider have different connections, and you would have to change over a lot more than just the switch. it would seem that the slider would have a cable attached to it to move the flap that controls the air, where as the switch is electronically controlled. make sense?

The slider does have a cable attached. I had to change the climate control piece after some thieves stole my stereo by yanking the center section out of the dash. There are three cables controlling fresh air/recirculate, temperature control, and air direction. It would require other parts to change to the electrically actuated switch in the newer cars.
