sidemarkers

for my 2002 protege, i bought the sidemarkers put out by mazda for the mp3. today, i brought my car and the lights to a conversion place, and they were all like "oooh, we're goign to have to use an aerosol saw (or something) and we're gonna have to cut, blah blah blah."

i mean, yeah, i figured since the metal on my car isn't perforated, they'd have to cut, but is it REALLY as big of a deal to get them installed as these people are making it out to be? is it a huge risk to my car?

audi, welcome to our club and our home away from home...

NO, its NOT that big a deal....but it sounds to me like the shop you took it to isn't very knowledgeable on the subject or they would have just told you that is what they were going to do to ENSURE YOU knew they were going to have to cut holes...like DUH!!! but seeing as how they reacted in the fashion you descirbed...I would be SERIOUSLY considering taking it elsewere to have the work done.

I tried the samething and got the same reaction, so I just rewired my P5 bumper lights to signal like the markers would have. Besides that I didn't/still don't know if there is wire on the sides of the car to finish the install. Rewiring the bumpers was so easy that I was able to do it myself. 'Search' for the info if that is what you decide to do. I know I wrote something up on the subject.
