Filling in sidemarkers

Filling in sidemarkers
I have had a few sets of cheep *** sidemarkers from APC. first set i had to drill into the fender and they were un even. so i redrilled the holes and made the markers even. I then switched styles to make a change. I had to make the Circular hole to a complete 1x1 or 1.5x1.5 square inch block in my fender. Which the sidemarkers coverd up the cut out portion.
Does anyone know of any filler or substitute to fill in the fender. or would it be easier to jus get 2 new fenders? i would like to go back to the stock siding with out the markers. Im not liking them as i used to.
Body shop be too expensive? Ill take some pics today and post em to show u what it looks like....
i need all info and help i can get. THanks

if you've never done body work before, just go get 2 fenders. It all looks easy in a step by step guide, but it's not. If you have the patience and general know how, it should be ok though.
you could do it one of 2 ways...
liquid nails, epoxy, etc a peice of metal on the inside of the fender overlapping the holes by 2" or so. Get them as tight as possible and then fill in the holes will filler, sand smooth, prime, paint, etc...
or
tack weld a peice of filler metal to the holes, grind smooth, filler, sand, etc...

eh, replacing fenders there?
if you're replacing front fenders to get rid of these holes, you might need a body shop ANYWAY.. i have a nasty mother of a dent on my drivers side (not to mention a falling bumper held on by thermostat wire to my half destroyed fender)... trust me, it's a costly experience even trying to work on a fender, i tried banging them out, and to even get the thing half way off took a half hour to an hour. if you need to get up and under a protege fender, there is a lot more work involved if you're not comfortable with ripping body panels off... i.e. 3 screws or so in the fender well, two impossible to reach bolts behind the door, three or four bolts under your hood..and not to forget the 3 or 4 "pop" rivots under the fender. how big are your holes?? honestly, to save yourself the most, go to pepboys and ask the **** heads there the easiest way to cover those freakin holes, they'll point you in the right direction to get a repair that is noticeable with in 4 feet, but not even noticeable 20 ft. eitherwise, just go to a body shop, it'd be ALOT cheaper to patch the damn holes up than getting new fenders (probably upwards of $127 for each fender, price i was quoted for cheap *** after-market fenders, and $200 or so for paint, prep and labor). and even so, if you just patch it up yourself, a fender repaint isn't much more than $200 at a very reputable or expensive shop, so save the money and just patch the holes, don't replace fenders or even try replacing them yourself... patching is the way to go

anyways
Fenders are easy to replace on our cars. But im jus goin to get a body shop to fill and paint the hole they are pretty big to begin with. and i want unscratched and un damaged Fenders...which will be hard to find.

are you sure you want to go through all that trouble and $$$.
You can always change the sidemarkers to a pair you like. Change the bulb if you don't like the color or even disconnect them if you don't want them to be on at night, but I don't think it's worth the $$$ and work to cover up the holes when you already have sidemarkers installed.
