Shaving antena

I was thinking of shaving the antena because I think the car would look better without it. Where could I relocate the antena so that I still get reception when wanted/needed. I was thinking along the side in the panels by the hatch or somehow under the car as you don't need it up in the air. I get perfect reception through the tunnels here and they are 150FT. under the Cheasepeake bay. Any suggestions?

that's how the Protege 5 is and I don't like it. I never was a fan of antenas and wish they would have integrated it into the rear glass.

If you haev a good head unit, IE: Rockfords with SuperTuner, you don't need an antenna. I'm shaving mine and just going with no antenna. My friend took his antenna off his Civic and the head unit picks up even weak campus signals.

I want no antena visible. i should take mine off and see if my deck will still get reception. I am not getting the rear glass as that will be expensive as hell.

Anyone look into any of those really stubby ones, like on some Mercedes? I see them with just two small nibs in a similar location to the p5, or further back near the rear glass - no whip, nothing more than an inch high.

Could one of these fit?

money does make anything happen. I think those are for the version of "onstar" that mercedes has, they integrate their antena into the rear window. Thanks for clarifying the rear glass situation as well.

Yep. That's what the Inch Antenna's on those are for. And Mercedes as well as other companies.

As for rear window antenna's:

Go here:
http://store.autotoys.com/cgi-bin/wfp53024.storefront

Under catagory of Antenna's, etc. Then subcategory "antennas" and right down the bottom you'll find a strip antenna for 20 bucks. Don't know if it works well or not. But it might be worth a shot.

I've always loved those mercedes ones!! They look shweet! But I barely listened to the radio till the new radio station opened up here, and now I have to pull my antenna out (before I had it closed, which looked SORTA like the mercedes..
