rear components?

rear components?
I just wanted opinions about putting components in the rear doors of a car. I know people say its a waste of money but I'm going to upgrade my front speakers so I'll have 2 sets of components. So since I'll have 2 sets of components anyways do you guys think it would be better to move one set in the back or just keep the coaxials I have right now in the rear.
Thanks.
Thanks.

That is completely up to you, however, you want to have your front speakers <preferably> louder than the rears so that the rears won't interfere with the fronts, so if you are using a 4 channel amp, have the gains higher for the fronts versus the rears or use deck power to the rears and a 2 channel amp to the front---whatever you have. If you got 'em, smoke 'em <not literally>, but hey, you have 2 sets of components you could use them, fine. The other thing you could do is take the tweeter out of the equation of the rear speakers and you can run all at the same power or the fronts with higher power. It's up to you my friend.

I currently have a 2 channel amp connected to the fronts. If I put the new components up front and keep them amped and have the rear components running off the deck, the staging and everything else should be ok? When you said take out the tweeter did you mean just put in the mids speaker in the door and keep the tweeter and x-over in my closet or something?

I would use the mids and tweets if you are using less power to them, but if you did just the mids, you would use the crossover (to block the high frequencies to the mids) and do away with the tweeters. Put 'em all in and run them the way you said---the 2 channel to the fronts and the deck power to the rear. You will get good sound! If you have the P5, then do the rear doors (of course), but if you have the sedan like me with the factory rear speakers in the rear deck, I would put them in the rear deck.
