I am in the process of FINALLY doing some nice work on my P5 audio system - definitely the nicest stuff I've ever done in my limited experience. I have an amp rack completed, and a custom-fit sub box for the passenger side of the hatch that is nearly done. My setup will be as follows:

Rockford Fosgate 360.2 - pushing an Infinity Perfect 10.1 sub.
Rockford Fosgate 300s - pushing Infinity Reference 605cs up front.

The Reference 605cs are a 6-1/2" woofer + silk tweeter and crossover component set.

So... should I run them at "full" from the amp - or should I use the high-pass filter (which is adjustable on the RF amp)? They are rated at 75 watts rms - exactly what the RockFos is putting out.

I don't want to blow the Infinity's up - but I also want very full sound with good mid-bass - that's why I bought a new component set afterall.

So which should it be - full or high pass?? What crossover point if using the hp filter?

Well I personally cut my mids off at 85Hz, then let the subs overlap at 90Hz. I run MB Quart components, and JL subs. If you cut the mids off at 85Hz or so, its just saves them fomr bottoming out and enabling to turn em up much louder without distortion. That's just my preference though, I also have a Phoenix Gold EQ that I use to boost and cut certain frequencies as well.

There's no magic setup and everybodys tastes are different. Your best bet is to just try both ways. Run them like that for about 3 days or so each to get a good feel on how it sounds with various music. You can use the RFs xovers to cut off some freqs, but ya can't add more, as the component xovers are fixed. Good Luck! as tuning usually takes the most amount of time.

Guess I'll probably start by setting the HPF as low as possible and work until I get the best combination of SQ and volume.
