I took back the Jensen Amp I purchased last week at A&B Sound and picked up a new HU.

Has anyone here had experience with this HU? Thoughts?

I paid $279.00cnd ($175usd). By searching on the web this HU would be about $300usd. It is a factory reconditioned unit. I think for the features this thing is a steal. In my last car I had a similar HU (Don't remember the model), which I purchased the same way and was very happy with it.

Now I can't wait to install it!! Is there anything special I need to do (other than getting a pocket for the hole)?

I don't want to be a buss kill but you can get the CDM-7874 for $199 retail that has almost all the same features since the 71 is last years model. Also the 7892 is like $250 new and has all the same stuff plus more power and XM.

Consider what I could have purchased for around the same money:
Sony CDX-CA720X $279.99
JVC KD-SH55 $329.99
Kenwood KDC-519 $329.99

My HU new was $429.00. Also keep in mind that Pricing from the US is not a direct conversion to pricing in Canada. From what I've seen we pay more for this sort of thing.

So is it a buzz kill? Not at all.
