Power with the keys out

I was just looking at my amp,
(its a cheap 400 watt boss - hehe)
This happend without my keys in the ignition!!!!

I dont have the rca cables up right now because i can't get it to work. I plugged the RCA's in and al of the sudden, the amp gets power (the light is bright green) , and the amp isnt even grounded? I ground it then the amp goes out? I unhook the RCA's (while the amp is grounded) and the light goes out. I unground it then i hooked the remote wire to a fuse in the fuse box, i closed the door - poped the trunk, and now i see my radio blinking on and off (remember, the keys arent even near the ignition???)
I went ahead and hooked the remote wire to the Head Unit's remote wire then I ground the amp then i turn the radio on.... no power light on the amp. . . I reconnect the RCA's and now the power light is on!!! hehe - this **** is wierd, the bad part is, I dont get no sound from the amp.

Does anyone know or have an idea of is going on here - hehe

Thanks in Advance :-)
Earl

look at your connections on your HU, you may have switched the acc and 12v+ backwards. also check the connections to your amp

fused (40amp fuse/80amp blow) 12v+ --> + on amp
Ground (GND should be close as possible to the amp, hook directly to chassis via seat bolt? or somethign similar) --> - on amp
rmt wire (from your HU usually blue) --> rmt on amp
RCA --> RCA on amp (pretty much idiot proof)

BTW why are you fuseing your rmt wire? should be already fused if you have an aftermarket HU

Okay.... hehe - I'll start from the top :-)

I first had a Sony CDX-400 Head unit, bought a pair of 10' subs made by jensin...... along with the Boss amp... It sounded great though. I pulled out my head unit to let my freind see how i did the install. I showed him the remote wire from the head unit running to the amp. That wire touched the metal casing of the head unit. That remote wire didnt want to work no more. So - I then hooked it up to the radio fuse in the fuse box.
I worked great for a while - then i notice a "choppy" sound from my sub box. So i unhooked it from the fuse box. I bought a new head unit (Sony Explode) and used the old wiring harness (its the same) so i didnt have to rewire it. Then I hooked it through the remote wire... and nothing came out of the subs.... I went ahead and threw the 2 subs in the trash then i bought a Sony Explode Sub... I threw it in the box... and then i hooked the remote wire back to the fuse box and it worked just a bit (the sub wasnt really hitting as hard as i though it would?) Then the amp stoped "reproducing" the sound? I done bought new RCA's for it (like a month ago) and it started to work a little better - now again, it dosnt work ....

The light is on when i plug the RCA's into the amp - then I ground it, then the light goes completely out. I hook the remote wire into the fuse box now, and then my head unit would turn on for a little bit, play music then shutoff - turns back on - plays music then turns back off... It does that when i hook the remote wire from the amp to the fuse box..... It freaked the hell out of me firsts..... hehe :-)

BTW, my ground wire is only about a foot long. I hook it to a bolt in the trunk or to the trunk latch on the car. One more thing , I have a 91 lx protege - and remember the keys arent in the ignition??

Thanks for helping..... hehe :-)
Earl
