Polk speakers?

I know that asking what speaker is best is like asking what your favorite food is... everyone has a different opinion.

In looking at speakers for my P5 I am strongly leaning towards a set of Polk EX572a (5x7) and EX602a (6.5) for the car. I think that these will be a good compliment to the Z919 head unit that I have in there at the moment.

My question is, anyone had horror stories with Polk stuff?... I have really liked their home speakers but have not heard anything about their car stuff.

TIA.

In my opinion, I did not like the Polk coaxials. From my experience, the tweeter was too attenuated (muted) for my tastes. If you're going for the middle-high end stuff go with Infinity Reference series coaxials.
Polk subwoofers are damn nice though!

I had the infinity references in My Civic and when i bought my protege 5 I went with a better speaker. I would recommend some MB Quart speakers for your car. They have a titanium done tweeter and sound awesome. I almost bought the Polks from circuit city, but the MB Quarts were a little more and sound much better. Here is a link to the 5x7 speakers: http://abtelectronics.com/scripts/si...t.php3?id=5120

I paid less than this for the speakers at an audio shop.
Do not pay Best Buy or Circuit City to install speakers. They charge like $30/pair and then charge $20/door if they need to remove the door panel. $30+30+20+20+20+20=$140. I paid $40 at a car audio shop where I bought the speakers. Got much better speakers for the same price including the installation. I would consider these if you have the funding and local resources.
