hosing down the engine bay shouldn't be a problem as long as you let all the water dry completely before starting the car.....

and there are a few places that one should avoid spraying too much water....!!!!

Mine's off and at the powder coating place now. I'm going to have it done in red. Will try to take it to a machine shop after its done and have them machine the tops off the 'Mazda' and 'dohc 16 valve' raised areas so they will have a finished look and stand out against the red. It's only going to cost $50 US which I thought was a pretty decent price for a professional job.
