Any reason why you don't want to hose down your engine bay?? Just curious?

I can already hear all the smart comments but I use to work at Western Wheel. All our wheels where powder coated. If they where white, silver, black it didnt matter they where all done with powder coating. Even the polished ones had a powder clear coat. So I would say that theres a good chance that your rims are already powdercoated.
Later Dave
P.S. We even made wheels for Honda.

I haven't done this on my protege but my old car was a '90 Geo Storm and no matter what car I have (junker or awesome) i do research and I found this site for the storm which has pretty good detailed instructions on painting the valve cover w/ pics and it looks pretty nice

http://www.stormowners.com/GSOPDatac.../fa/view/id/22

I did it on my storm and I just sand blasted it. You'll need another ride to work for a few days cause ya gotta let the coats dry but It's worth it I asume i'll drive the storm when I do it to my protege but I'll wait til summer thats when I'll do all my mods hehe; Hope that helps some

No I did want to know how much to change the color. If its already power coated to be silver I guess then I have to pay more to have it sanded.

Mxyzptlk (Dave) You might think about trying to finding some stock polished P5 wheels that someone doesnt want anymore. It might be less hassle.

I read that someone had their HR springs powder coated white. They had prevously been powdercoated a different color though. The shop he took it to just cleaned it and powder coated a new color over it. So I don't think you would have to sand blast off the current powder coating.

F-15, if he would need to sand blast his stock SILVER powder coated wheels...then he would need to do the stock POLISHED wheels too....THEY are CLEAR powder coated....its what I have on MY car.

IMO, the 1.8L engines look a lot nicer. Especially the wires over the valve cover. On the 2.0 it is a mess and there are wires everywhere. On the 1.8 they all run side by side, each going to a spark plug, very clean and nice. This is a bit off topic but since we are talking about engine asthetics I thought I'd mention it.
On the other hand, I like the 2.0L how you can see moreof the exhaust manifold. Once some nice headers come out, being able to see the manifold will make for an awesome looking engine bay.

Man, what the hell is up with your moderators? Do you guys have to be such ****** about things?

Its a simple question, is that so difficult to answer? What the hell are you going to break with a garden hose?
