Pakfeifer.......
Just curious about something.......Every front end for my 2000 pro requires either trimming or complete removal of, I think it's called, the 5mph bumper reinforcement. (Not sure if that's what it is called). My question is whether or not the Pakfeifer front bumper requires the same thing? If it does, why can't somebody make one that doesn't require this? Is it yet another thing that makes this car so damn difficult to modify?
Thanks for any info.......

more than likely, you'll be removing the 5mph bumper. Many/Most aftermarket (non-oem) bumpers do not "stick out" very far in the front. Thus, the bumper has to go.
The 5mph bumper reinforcement is a thick plastic piece behind your bumper cover. I believe it's white or yellowish. You'll know it when you see it.

what will it do?
What will it really do if this is removed? I mean, if I get hit w/o this is it going to kill me or total my car? Any chance that the insurance companies will try to not cover me w/o this? And is there any way to put something back there for some protection?
I know, a lot of questions!

J-spec bumper reinforcement
I'm assuming the European and Japanese-spec cars have SOME kind of bumper reinforcement underneath the bumper cover, so why not order that part to replace the US-spec reinforcement? Just a thought...
Thanks, Nick

I once saw a Japanese web site of a guy who removed his stock Familia front bumper, there was NOTHING behind it.. just the radiator.. he had a stock front bumper from there, obviously.
I doubt there's a Reinforcement in Asian or European countries, at all, judging by this.
