Painting Interior.....?????
Has anybody here ever painted there interior at all, as far as the dash goes, or the cluster, or instrument area, etc. I plan on painting a lot. (door handles, inst. cluster surround piece, around stereo area, etc.) Do any of you have a preference on what type of paint to use? I bought some Plasti-Kote "Engine Enamel" and Plasti-Kote "Vinyl Color" from ADVANCED AUTO PARTS. I am doing my accents in silver. I might end up painting the entire dash in black with silver accents, but that would be a lot of paint and taking a chance of a lot of chipping so I think for now I am going to leave my stock grey interior and just paint silver accents. Are these paints that I bought good? Do any of you have any better ideas? As you know the Protege interiors hvae different materials, so that is why I bought two types of paint (VINYL and the Engine which will work for everything.) WHat is your technique for painting the interior? Just light coats? Or heavy coats, then sand and more.
THANKS A BUNCH and SORRY FOR THE LONG POST
