umm just to let u know though... i had some of them neons as well and u caint just cut off the cig lighter part... because it actually has like a transformer kinda thing built into it... (well mine did anyway)...

what i did was bought a cig lighter adapter thingy... so u can plug the neons thing straight in... (2 of em)... and ran that to the battery and the negative i grounded it... (i recall a grounding point behind the center console)...

as for the switch i just put it through the positive wire...

worked fine!! but then i got sick of it and pulled it out hehe

okay there is my dodgy drawing of it hehe

basically its as u see... but just a few points

1. with my neons i had a transformer built into the ciggy lighter adapter hting so i couldn;t just chop it off... what i did was buy that twin thing and cut the adaptor for that and wire it straight to batttery and ground....

2. With the ground (negative)... just use the one behind the cup holder... (like u put ur hand under there and u can feel it... thats where i grounded mine... (there are already some other wires there so u can use that.. LOL forgot to add with the ground thing... u dont need to have it at same point as battery... as long as its on the body of ur car it should be fine...

this was my first project after i got the car LOL... (yes i know rice boy be quiet hehe,... till i realized the potential the protege had.. and i ran to my performance mods hehe)....

one VERY IMPORTANT THING... DONT CUT OFF THE CIGGY LIGHTER ADAPTOR.. because it constains a transformer and u need that to power the neons (i made that mistake *lucky i didn;t cut the wires too close to adaptor)....

anyone have anything else to add to this??
