My new sound system!
Hereīs my new sound system:
-HU: Alpine CDA-9815
-Front speakers: JL XR525-cs
-Sub: JL 12" w0
-Amps: -PG Tantrum 300.2 for the fronts.
-Distinct Audio (I know, wtf? lol) for the sub, 4 chanel amp and it puts out about 200w bridged for the sub. Ill change it when I get some $ along with a better sub.
-Wiring: All PG.
-Installer: Me .
It took me about three days, I didnīt rush it and took my time to make sure that everything was done correctly. It sounds great even though I have yet to customize the settings for the HU.
Here are some pics: link

knowing fully well what a true sub amplfier can do, i ran my rockford fosgate punch z 10's off of my four channel 200 watt JBL amp in my car for 6 months without a hitch, hitting 100 watts to each sub (probably 90 to each in actuality). i had no problems and the subs could be heard from 1/4 mile away...or even further, who knows, but these amplifiers aren't really designed to push subs. jump up to a 300 or 400 watt x1 Class D mono amp, and you'll appreciate the sound the sub produces then. cause as from what i've been told, mono class D amps typically have larger capacitors inside the amplifier, able to hold energy for that extra kick that you just can get with a normal 4 channel amp. either than that, very nice install with the tweets on the sail panels. plus once you get into time correction on that head unit, you'll be in heaven. i've had my alpine for only about 3 or 4 months, and let me tell you, i still can't stop ******* with the settings, cause i always find someway to make it sound better than it was. very nice selection, keep it up.

This amp probably puts out about 150w rms, it sounds good but I could use a litle more loudness and definition in the low range. Iīm a SQ guy. I want to upgrade the cheesy amp with either a 2 chanel amp or a mono amp as well as getting a new sub to go with it in the 300-400w range, this however wonīt happen anytime soon because Iīm broke .
Yeah, Alpine HUs rule . Now I have to configure the time correction thing and figure out how to set the crossover, I donīt know squat about frequencies, db/oct, hz...

Maybe it's just the flash or something you did with the pic, but in that shot of your sub box, it looks as though your interior plastic trim is a really light gray - is it?
I know mine (and ever other that I've seen) is that dark charcoal color - yours looks like it matches the A-pillar trim by the windshield - very light gray!
Flash? Computer-brightened photo? Or is it really that color???
Just curious.
Nice audio setup too, BTW .
