that enclosure is wicked!!! but the box looks kinda small for airspace, are you sure the infinity's don't need more?

I think the pics are bit deceiving as far as the size of the box.

Is it small? Sure. Too small? Depends.....

If the box is a bit on the small side, the bass will be tighter - maybe not quite as loud, but only slightly - and it won't play as deep. All of which is fine by me.

I have to sacrifice a bit as I need as much hatch space as possible.

I think it'll be fine. I haven't measured the volume - I might later though, just to see.

In a sealed enclosure, a little variance in airspace doesn't make a huge difference. I think it's gonna sound great (fingers crossed! ).

are you going to do a layer of bondo and sand it down for the final layer?

Stay tuned!

I bet i can guess what your gona do... when carpeting the box with same fabric you used earlier, just put the subs in and then cover the box completely giving a flush look.

if i'm correct, PM me if not, i'll think of something else

say you put 10 layers of glass on the front, how does that compare in density to that of 3/4 mdf??? I'm thinking of putting a single 10w7 in the same spot as you and making a amp rack on the other side. it is recommended that i use 3/4" for walls(perfered 1") and 1" for the front(1.5 is perfered) baffle. would 10 layers be enough or would i really need to build this thing up for 3\4" all the way around?

Probably not. I think what I have is reasonable for covering with fabric. There are a couple of little "nubs" that I will have to grind off (dremel), but other than that I don't think it'll need to be bondo-smooth.

Nope......

I really can't say - it's really about stiffness, not density - but lots of things factor into the stiffness of the finished fiberglass. For a w7, because of the large power handling and excursion, the enclosure needs to be very very stiff - I would say a minimum of 10-15 layers all around, but that's just a guess. Popular wisdom seems that 7 decent layers is good enough for a sub enclosure - but the W7's are so strong and heavy, that might have to be doubled, especially for the baffle. I'd say between 3/8" and 1/2" thick would be good - but I'm not sure how many layers that would be.
