a little soundproofing help?
i put in some new 240 watt pioneer rear speakers. and when kranked up i notice a lil rattle in the back. i thought it was the tweater hitting, so i put some foam in there, but it still did it. and i noticed its not my trunk itself, but the roof of the actual interior trunk is whats rattling, and i just got a pair of rockford 10s, so i think im going to have some problems with that, anyone know what to do to fix it? thanx for the help!

get some 1/2' foam tape and line the **** outa the trunk lip and body so the two sides meet... foam tape the third light on the rear deck and tape the emergency truck release cable down... look in the hole in the truck lid and tape ALL the wires down... take off the left panel thingy in the trunk and tape the wire down in there.. ive spend abuot 6 hours de rattleing my trunk... and i got sound dampening material aswell.. right now the only thing that rattle is the left bumper cover side... unfixable unless u take it off and take some flex out... if u need any pix of what ive done let me know and ill send them ur way.. just pm me ur email... i got 2 10;s aswell so i think i know what to do, lol... any questions just give a shout...

ps for the wires... duct tape is your best friend... i also put some expanding foam in the trunk lid holes to help with absorbtion of sound...

Home depot or Lowes! Get yourself a few sheets of the home insulation...it's the same stuff as dynomat....worked fine in the Eclipse....that thing bumped like crazy!

Just stop by HD or Lowe's....the stuff is relatively cheap guys.
DIY stuff save you crazy amounts of YOUR hard earned cash. Check the write up on painting your interior also....again...you don't have to have a shop do what you can do for yourself!!!

You know, another option would be to get a can of expanding insulation foam and spray a little of it in behind the trim panel. It weighs very little, and ought to cushion loose trim pretty well, thereby solving your rattle problem. Figure on spending just a few bucks on a can of it... and it takes very little (as I mentioned).

If you use that expanding foam, I would recommend testing it out on something first. That stuff blows up like nobody's business, and if you get too much you will be cutting it out (big mess). Also, the foam hardens up in the application tube and makes it useless for further use, so try to do all your application at once.
