i HAD a JVC SH-99 but it got jacked. I wouldnt get another one, i think there are better values out there and i think they actualy look too good so they're a target for ***** muthafuckers who dont like to work.

I've heard two stories of JVC head units catching fire. These were older units, and I'm not 100% sure of the quality of the install, but still - I still won't buy any JVC.

mp4life is right, there are better values out there.

I second that! About a month ago some @$$holes broke my drivers window, ripped the center dash trim out, and stole my Kenwood Excelon KDC-X815 head unit.

I like the look of JVC buy the quality usually isn't there. Get a Kenwood. Better sub out control.

There has been some confusion as to the speaker sizes in the US versus Cananda, and I don't remember if yours were different than ours in the States. I know down here, the speakers are 5x7 in the front doors, and 6.5" in the rear doors. ( I adapted 6.5" in the front doors, though - an easy switch).

The JVC you are looking at won't really match the interior, if you care about that (you did ask). The silver color of that deck will not match the "champagne silver" of the interior trim in the P5, and the buttons on the deck are green illumination, while the entire dash of the P5 is an amber/reddish color. You might want to try a deck that has a better color combination for the interior - you'll also need a pocket underneath the deck, and I'm almost 100% sure they're all black - unless you do a custom dash kit-type-thing.

The colors of that deck will look out-of-place in the P5 - just my opinion. I've got the Kenwood 8017MP - it matches up pretty well - the button illumination can be green or red. Here's a link to some pics (not the greatest shots, but you'll see what I mean): Kenwood 8017

I went to best buy on Friday and they had this cpu set up to check for speaker sizes. They have an option for the P5, but all the information is wrong even the pictures. FYI in case you go there and they talk you into buying something. Im pretty sure its 5x7 and 6.5.
