Question Interior paint color/type/brand

What's up people? First of all, I'd like to introduce myself and of course, my Protege: I live in Montreal, Canada and bought a 2002 Protege ES with the Canadian GT package in February 2002. I haven't gotten around to doing too many mods because I've been too busy since I've gotten the car. I'm starting to put more time into the car nowadays and have a long list of ideas which I've already started to implement.

All that being said, I have a question that may already have been answered in the forums but I just can't seem to find an answer for: does anyone know if there's a paint color/type/brand that I can buy which will match the titanium/"gun metal" finish on the 2002 Protege ES/5's. I'd like to paint some of my interior and I really like the paint Mazda has used and don't want to stray from that.

Thanks.

Hi welcome to the board. I would think the moderators would pass along their welcomes later.

Anyway, I was just looking at this very problem. I am in the process of changing out my cup holders to the new style and my parts guy is looking for the paint code so I don't have to repaint the silver. Failing that I will probably take it to a auto paint supply shop and have them colour match it and give me a spray bomb.

Contact member "azrakain" - he did his own interior with Mazda OEM red, and has offered to do anyone's interior with stock Mazda colors - I think it was like $175 - a little pricey, but his work looks to be top notch, and he uses expensive OEM paints.

Send him a PM, I'm sure he'll be glad to help you out.

Ya I've seen what azrakain has done and that's not really what I'm aiming for. He has painted his interior the same color as the exterior color of his car. I actually want to re-use the "gun metal" interior color that Mazda has used and paint some other parts (cup-holders/shifter base for example is not painted on the ES but is on the 5).

So, back to my original question: anybody know what kinda paint will match the original interior finish of the 01/02 ES and 5?

DaMaster, Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to our Club. There are TWO BIG fridge'S in the corner with anything you can think of in them...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have.

make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom don't care....and take it easy.

oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here.

Welcome!!

Somewhere along that same thread someone found the trick to the mixing of the colors for the interior and it looks almost exact to that of the OG colors. Do the search
