installing 2 diff single din decks into a double din opening
hi everyone,
first off i'd like to thank everyone that has given me input in the past. this forum rocks.
second, onto my question:
do you think that it is possible to install 2 different single din decks into a double din opening? my friend is buying my kenwood deck from me to put into his car, but he also wants to add on a tape deck. can i t-tap/splice the entire wiring harness so that i could run the tape deck simultaneously with the cd unit?
OR
should my friend buy the kenwood auxilary cable that uses the cd changer connector to connect to the other deck (if that's even possible)?
i dont know if this is making sense, and i'm feeling like this is going to be a mickey mouse job if i do it. any ideas? comments? rants?
thanks guys

I definitely don't recommend splicing in to the wire and connecting two different units to one wire. Even if done successfully, how would your speakers and/or amps decifer what unit is on and what to play. I have heard of people using a separate cassette/CD player in their car, but they had to get some type of adaptor switch to switch from one to the other. I see where some Protege owners have a DVD player with the flip screen above their CD player, but they have high end head units with auxillary inputs.
In your case it is do-able but may be more complex than it's worth. However, some one else on this forum may know more about this and be able to tell you differently.
