Question Info on new Infinity Reference speakers

I was surfing around looking for new speakers on the Crutchfield website. Infinity just released new reference models. The 6x8/5x7 component and a 6-1/2 2 way that look interesting. They seem to have a bit more range than the older models. Also I've never seen a 6X8 reference component b4. So would the extra $90 for a proper fitting 6x8 and newer 6-1/2 be worth it? or would I even notice a difference in sound?

I was considering a 6-1/2 reference component for the front b4 the 6x8 showed up.

2 questions
1:are you going to be using a external amp or HU power
2: do you want a factory warrante or would you be happy with a website warranty

infinity reference speakers are pretty darn cool and well worth the money

Get the Kappas!!

Your front speakers are the most important of all. Even if it's out of your budget, it's not too far out of reach, I would definitely be patient and buy them. If you are going to be in your car for years to come, doesn't it make sense to get something that will give you longer lasting listening pleasure? If you plan on replacing the rear as well, then perhaps you can hold up on that and get the better front speakers (since that is your front sound stage which is crucial).

if he is going to only run HU power, the the reference are best, the kappas want alot of power to make them happy.

Just HU power

I'll just be using HU power. In my old car ('98 crapalier ) all I did was a speaker swap and a Pioneer GM sized HU (I needed a cd player). The sound from the 4 speakers kept me plenty happy and they were some $49 a pair specials from Crutchfield.

Also since I have a 6disc cdplayer in this car I dont want to swap the HU. I had one Pioneer stolen out of my old car. I don't want to amp my car either. I'm just to lazy to do all the wiring if I like the sound already .

I'm glad some of you guys like the Kappas. I am planning on getting the Kappa 60.5c components in the front and Kappa 652i coaxials in the back with a Kappa Perfect 12.1D sub in the hatch.

So far i'm thinking about the USX-800D, or Hi-Fonics 500D. I might shy away from the US Acoustics USX from what I'm hearing about them.
