Indiglo gauges

Anyone know if any Indiglo gauges are available for the P5? I see a set "like" them on ebay for protege's, they look exactly the same. I am skeptical about getting them, can anyone fill me in?

They should fit, but do some research before you order if you are still skeptical....

BUT, this is what I like better. Intelliglow Needle Kits at www.importintelligence.com

IMO they look much better. And aren't that expensive. I went through days of emailing to the and found that they will work on the 01 Proteges.

If I weren't dead set on only spending my money on performance parts I'd get them.

Those are interesting. I hadn't seen the needles before. The Indiglo gauges will fit your P5, but I've heard the installation is difficult. Several people have broken needles trying to get them installed. I guess that would apply to the Intelliglow needles also.

Question advice on indiglo request

guys, ive just been on ebay and found heaps of indiglo clusters..but i need some advice as to which is best.
there are 5 colour indiglos form a company called 'indigloking'
6 colour indiglos from a company called 'celluncinit'
and 7 colour indiglos from a company called 'unitedindiglo'

i was just wondering if any of u had purchased from these or other companies that make em? any advice would be greatly appreciated.

also my tacho is located on the right hand side...(some of the indiglos shown on ebay had the tach on the left.and the fuel on the right)..will this matter if i get one of these...

indiglo

The sets you see are not FULL clusters, they are just the gauges faces which will sit on top of your stock faces, but beware before buyin that our needles are not meant to be removed, I made the mistake, and now i must ethier A. by a new cluster from the dealership, or B. find a wrecked 99-01 protege and get the cluster from that. There is specific directions someone had mentioned here on this site on how to install indiglo gauges, i bought the ones from unitedindiglo, and the transformer blew after 3 days of using them, its was a mistake for me to buy em, now i wish i didnt. so I payed $32.00 for the gauges which now dont work w\o buyin a new transformer, and one the needles broke causing a $250.00 mistake. So do what you do wisely

i had a gut feeling that the 7 colour united indiglos werent good quality..how u ask? well i noticed that no one seemed to be putting any bids on them...compared to say the five colour ones by 'indiglokingdom' which had several bids on them.

>>Makaveli,

what are you talking about brother...if i can't get a variety of opinions then why bother with this forum

in addition while i appreciate 1mp3clone's comments there are several questions which i still need the answers for..

1) has any one had any experience with a.) indiglokingdom or

b.) celluncimit

2) can anyone tell me if the fact that my tacho is on the right hand side makes any difference.?

3) apart from the three companies that i have singled out who else makes indiglos for the 00 protege?

i need YOU GUYS OPINIONS!
OTHERWISE I MAY END UP BUYING BOGUS CRAP LIKE 1MP3CLONE.

indiglo

As far as I know there are only 2 companies selling these indiglo gauges for our cars, some consider the 5 color gauges as 6 color if u count the WHITE FACE, and as for the 7 color I dont know, APC and EL are the 2 companies that I know of, I have spoke with both and overall the APC seem to be the better quality if u can hack seeing the APC logo on ever single gauges personally I didnt wanna see that so I went with the EL, now I wish I had gone w\ the apc for I would at least still have a use for my indiglo gauges. As for the sellers, more then likely they are all selling the same brand gauges, my suggestion would be to email the seller and as them what brand the gauges are, if they are the EL gauges then I would wait til EL fixes their little problem with the transformer for they are recalling all that have blown. APC on the other hand makes a great quality product, just likes the logo on everything. Do what you feel its your car, thats the way I feel. No one but yourself makes the car payment.

PEACE

I think Edwin wrote something about it in his protege FAQ. That'd be a good start

DO NOT take the needles off. Others have tried and broken their needles. I hear there are no replacement needles for sale, you have to buy the whole gauge cluster thing again. $$$$

Have you consulted the FAQ. I can't remember if it mentions how to do it there.
