Mr. T, my observation on my old system with my 2 10" inch rockfords in a prefab sealed box was, it was hardly loud enough for my tastes with the seats up, so the 40 portion of my seat back, i mounted the amp on and left the seat down to A) get more sound out of the subs, and B) keep my 200 watt jbl amp from overheating.. WOW, what a difference running ghetto style can help . i just have the feeling that with the seat back down, you get a nice 'BACK MASSAGE' (i think that is the best way to describe your system Intruder). now, it doesn't make for a pretty install, as you can see in this image.. and please gentlemen, notice the superior "Quality" this install has over Intruder's setup:
in actuality, i believe dropping the seatback, you're able to give your sub(s) more room to throw air, but since intruder's box is ported, leaving the seatback down may actually be counter productive in this case... i don't know. besides, i think the best way IS to leave the seat backs up, but i go to import shows all the time, and see ton's of guys with their seat backs down to give the 'appearance' and sound of more bass. now, your input level on your amp intruder, i hadn't actually put ANY thought into wtf this was for, and infact, i just custom tuned to where i noticed my subs weren't distorting, but 3 is a good a guess as any . i always treated this as my gain level to tell you the truth, so in reality, i have no idea what this sucker is for. your lowpass filter on the amplifier, how many settings does it have? HP, FLAT, and LP, or does it have like a series of numbers? if it has numbers, adjust it to where it's below 120hz, i couldn't imagine your sub needing to play anything higher than that. if it has the HP, FLAT, and LP, leave it on LP. and subsonic filter, i have no idea, sorry. hope this helps a little, and i hope you can apprieciate my 'ghettorific' install .
peace

well, when I had the seats down I was getting chills, the hair on the back of my head was vibrating, and the bass was hitting me in the neck! I was feeling it in my spine. it was trippy!
then I raised the seats while the car was in motion and I kind of stopped feeling the chills, but that's because I changed the album... At first I was listening to ...And Justice for All, which is known for its HUGE bass (and the lack of a bass guitar), then I changed to Master Of Puppets...
The difference was not significant. I will have to test more. Don't worry, I will et you all know how it goes...
Now I gotta finish my amp rack man... See you later!

demoninvictus, I appreciate everything man! thanks again!
I am sure if you've had more time you'd have done a better "cosmetic" job.
The Sub-sonic filter is an ON/OFF switch that controls the Low pass f. That's it...
The **** for the LPF has numbers. It acts like a crossover I think, so I guess I will set it to about 120Hz if there is such an option. I have to look man. I forgot the amp's manual in my car...
But yeah, the BACKMASSAGE part is true. It's kind of... It's an unusual feeling for me man. Like I said before - it's trippy! It gives me the chills... It feels just like when I was at a private Metallica show in San Francisco (at the Fillmore theatre) on the 18th of May. I was really FEELING the music and everything. I wasn't hearing it very well cuz it was SO ******* LOUD that my ears switched into "protect" mode It was quite an "ear-spank" but I was feeling it.... So, last night reminded me of that. The only difference being that I did not lose my hearing after the "concert".

MetallicA sound AWESOME live... Actually, I like their live performances better than the original album versions. The vibe is great... It's an amazing experience for any metallica fan. It's just that the place was very small, and their audio system was so powerfull... It was VERY LOUD, but not distorted at all. It was just LOUD.

Intruder, no problem.. though i'm not sure what advice i gave will actually help, you get my full intellectual 4 o'clock in the morning type wisdom, heh . so, uh, that fancy tsunami amp lights up, eh? pretty phat. over the past 4 weeks, i've asked EVERY audio-head and newb out there if they've heard of tsunami amps. now, granted, people in my area are just accustomed to tsunami RCA cables, wiring, terminals, sound deadener, and the like, NO SINGLE PERSON has heard of a tsunami amp, and infact, gave me a strange look like i was smoking something. not even our local private audio shops have heard of these amps.. and they pretty much see and hear it all. all in toll, i asked 6 salesmen, 10 installers, and 3 shop owners... not one of them knew tsunami made an amplifier.. EVEN THOUGH some of these guys sell tsunami equipment and have tsunami catalogs... strange as freakin hell. funny thing though, i asked the same of elemental designs, no body heard of them as well, cept this one dude who couldn't describe the cone design or anything about features, product lines, company origin or ANYTHING about eD.. but said they sucked *****... last time i ever ask him about anything besides pulling answers out of my *******, then he might be an expert!
peace
ps. good luck intruder...very nice to hear just how far you've come along.. and is quite frankly going to be part of my guide to getting my new subs and amp...(same amp, 2 e10k.14's i'm hoping )

I asked plenty of people, and actually some have heard of Tsunami amps. One of them (a salesman in one of the local car-audio shops_ said that they are "average" amps. He's seen them in catalogs, but said that they are just average amps.
Not a single one has heard of eD though. Pretty interesting.
Yesterday I finished my amp rack and installed it... And I don't know if I have to break-in my sub for a week or something, but the SPL wasn't there. It wasn't like the first nigt of testing. I had to turn the volume up a lot more than the day before to be able to feel the bass like I did the first night. It looks like I'm gonna have to wait a few days and if I can't make it work nice, I'd have to remove the amp rack or modify it so it has holes in it or it's just a slimmer board holding only the amp, not obscuting the whole passage between the trunk and the inside of the car.
One problem -- my side mirrors RATTLE. Is there a solution to that? I got out of my car to check out all the rattles and the only things that rattle are my side mirrors and the license plate (just a little). The mirrors stop rattling when I hold them (gently - I don't have to press hard to stop the rattle). Basically, all I have to do is touch the mirror with one finger and it will stop rattling. This same rattle occured before (with no sub) -- at about 1500 RPM -- that zone. Any ideas how to fix the rattlling mirrors?

the amp looks much better in person. you guys have to see it to really appreciate its looks. I'm not kidding... Those pics don't look half as good as the amp looks in reality.
