I'm sorry for not understanding the first time, but I expected a straight-up answer - yes/no.

This is great news... How many months is the waiting period for this amplifier?

I know about your "in stock" feautre but apparently it took you 6 days to update it... If I knew it was on backorder I would have never ordered it in the first place. And if you had told me sooner about it being on backorder, I could have gone for another amplifier and long forgotten about this issue. This comes as a VERY UNPLEASANT SURPRISE to me TODAY - after waiting 8 days for a tracking number, you tell me that it is on backorder?

I am sorry for the trouble I'm causing, but if I was presented with the current situation (back then...) I wouldn't have ordered from you!

And regarding the help, I already mentioned how you could help - by giving me a refund of the shipping cost.

My experience has turned from unpleasant to NASTY.

you don't need to apologize for being unpleasant.

the stock page hasn't changed for a while. it's been updated. From what it
looks like from install logs it was updated a day after your order. It just
appears your email answer incorrect.

I'm here trying to help. We can cancel the order no problem and hopefully
help you find something that is in stock, for about the same amount of money
somewhere if you'd like us to.

I realize we made a mistake, and for that eD apologizes. We have a guaruntee
for a reason. If we mess up we fix it, and that's what I'm here attempting
to do.

If you'd like I can continue to try and help via email or you can give us a
ring tomorrow and I can see what kind of help we can be on the telephone.

Well, you can just bridge the amp:

AXT 800.2 2x200@4ohm, 800x1@4ohm

Wait a minute, can this be right? This comes directly off their web site...the bridged output would be at 2 ohm right? not 4 ohm.

Anyway, just a suggestion for you to get some satisfaction...I am looking forward to your take on your sub and box combo...

wow, i am very unpleased by this situation. just by the disgression that was at hand, would make me very hesitant to order my 2 eD subs and that phat tsunami amp they have available. i think before ordering ANYTHING from edesigns, an email is from now on in warrant for ordering, JUST to make sure they have the equipment they are promising. though the apparant quality that has been acclaimed kinda makes it hard for me to NOT want to order from them. they are a very upstanding company, it just sucks to see that one incident can tarnish their image amongst us enthusiast. the BUISNESSMINDED thing to do is to sell you the AXA 600.4 amplifier, shipped, at no additional charge to you.

in other words, keep the sub, and run the AXA 600.4 amplifier, wire it properly and you'll get 300 watts to each voice coil at 4 ohms.. ie 300x2 @ 4ohms. now i don't know how well a 4 channel amp will do at pushing that, as i really don't think 4 channels are made specifically to push subs, but it's an idea.

just a little background for you guys, yes, they are based in iowa, they just opened a new facility to replace the old one with tons of more space, they're working to manufacture mountains of subs to basically prevent backordering and have at least a 2 to 3 month shipping supply on hand.. so it seems.

good luck bud, they are a great company, i just hate to see them pull **** like this.
peace

4 ohm amps work fine for pushing subs.... my friend has 2 12" MOMO's and they are single voice coil and he has an RF 800.4 amp and bridged it so its 400x2 now.... works just fine... its hte same concept of what you are doing..cuz DVC is pretty much two speakers in one... thats what ive been taught anyway... so it should work fine

but this way I will be feeding a stereo signal to the sub - one channel per coil. the opposing magnetic fields will cancel out and the end result will be a lower volume or something like that. am I wrong? but then, on the other hand that's what a mono amp is doing when it downmixes the stereo signal into mono. I don't know which one is better or worse or if there's any difference.... *sigh*

don't forget the damping factor! the 500M has a damping factor of >750 (whatever that means). blue LEDz keeps saying that the greater this number is, the more control you have over the sub which is a good thing.

moreover, those are class T amps... the 500M is an A/B - better sound quality (I guess there is no difference at such low frequencies, but...).
