Gen3: Plastic grill removal?

How easy is it to remove the grill off the front where the chrome thingie and the mazda logo are on a 3rd gen (1999)?

would zip-ties be a safe way to secure the mesh on? i mean with engine heat and all ... would they melt?

i'm a lazy wax'er when i wash and wax my car ... there's some buildup there plus i would think it'd look a lot better.

thanks!

I will try to get a pic of my grill up once i get my film developed after teh turbo install and the spring install. The grill is held on my two screws you can see from teh top of the grill with the hood opened and three push lock connectors at the bottom of the grill which attach to the bumper. There is also a barb lock on the ears that the screws came off of just wrap a scrwedriver with some cloth and pop it out. And there you go the grill is out. The chrome piece is only held on my push locks which you can get to once the grill is off. Making a mesh grill to work though is no easy task. Took me almost half a day to get it right and I walked away happy but with a million little cuts on my hands.

Where did you buy your grill from?? I need to buy some grill for the custom one I'm making at my dad's machine shop...

Also there is a Protege Owner "itsallaboutgz" who made a custom grill, and I think he used plastic ties to hold his up... he might have a pic (I think I've seen it)...
