Question dynamat advice

my speakers are not sounding very good and my friend told me about dynamat i looked for it at some sites . i don't have any experience with dynamat and i am wondering if i should buy it. does it really help your speakers?

dynamat will help quiet exterior noise - but won't help your system. $ for$ the money is best spent first on upgraded head units and amps for our cars...

yeah, ive always heard that stuff like that helped with stopping rattling and such but really doesnt improve sound..
