door tar

I'm trying to take off the tar on the inside of the door (behind the panel) I tried using Turtle Wax bug & Tar remover but it didn't help that much. Any suggestions?

WHY are you trying to take it off? you didn't peel off the plastic did you? and leave it off? its there for a reason.....and the black tar holds it on....and does a good job of it too....

you see.....the plastic is a moisture barrier....keeps moisture from getting to the inside of your door panels and having them go to crap. if you removed the moisture barrier.....I would recommend putting it back on. if you threw it away....get yourself some more thick clear plastic...and make new ones.

why wouldn't you recommend taking it off? Currently the plastic isn't installed it's just the tar and when I take off the door panel the frigging tar gets all over my hands

dude, like nuke said, its there for a reason. if thats your car in your sig, then the inside is probably as nice as the outside and you dont wont to ruin it over a little piece of plastic. so i would get another piece. a little tar on your hands is nothing compared to a ruined door panel.

What's that tar there for? I sometimes find tar on my driver's side panel and wonder how the hell it gets there.

I just wanna take it off cause I might install some sound dampner in the future and so I don't dirty my door panel. I've gotten i t dirty a few times already.

PS- I wish that car in my signature were mine!
