Evil US imports...I wanted one...but I can not justify the price of just getting one set.

I might have to ask my connection to get me a set..but that will not be for a while...

OK, just contacted Hon-Yu in Taiwan. The good news is that my family lives in Taiwan and can go pick them up... ALL the makes for the door sills and the sideview mirrors. The good news is they are cheap to buy if you are there. The bad news is how to get them here. We can ship em but there would be no guarantee they could get here.

Any suggestions?

 

what do you mean there is no guarantee?
can we buy insurance or something.
what about DHL?
they ship all over the world and i am sure they offer a
guarantee.

 

The no guarantee part is getting it out of Taiwan. It is way cheaper to just buy then there and have some one ship it over than to have the company ship it. That way you can declare it as something else and avoid the international import charges. What I ll try to do is get some sent to me and see how well that goes.

This is good information, but the price seems a bit high. This guy is going to make a killing if we buy from him. It is my understanding that they can be bought for $50/set plus shipping for the EL ones. Or maybe that is for the standard ones. Can anyone confirm if this is an alright deal?

 

Regarding to the guy that is making a killing, I don't think so. We will need to consider the duties, freight from Taiwan, and his carrying cost on 1000+ sets. I was also told that he has door sills and bumper guards for the MPV and the Tribute as well for anyone who is interested.

 

thats what i meant is that your family member buys them and ships them over.
btw, does anybody how hard or easy it is to remove the stock ones? how do you connect the lights?
we still need somebody to collect a list of people who want one, their address and money. then all of that will be sent to canadian distributor and they will be responcible to ship them to everybody.
i can do it if you guys want or if somebody else thats fine too.
maybe we can create a paypal account.

 

OK, here we go...

Each set is an average cost of $32. There are 50 sets per 35CuFt "Crate". The Freight on that "crate is $200. Total for one "crate":
32x50=1600
Freight=200
Total = 1800 or $36/set
So, if we buy 50 sets off this guy at $100/set not including shipping he is roughly making almost a 200% profit. That is not a killing? I wish I had $1800 to get a "crate" shipped to me so I could sell them to you all!

I am just ecplaing myself, that is all. I understand this guy runs a business to make money and he is obviously doing a good job at it. It sure as hell makes it easier to buy off of him instead of trying to go another route.

Hmmmmm....that price (and the $15 shipping) looks conspicuously similar to the prices given by ELPRO from his guy.

Okay - I'm taking 1 to 1 action on all bets under 25 cents that it's the same guy. Any takers on no?

It may be a fake...the guy didnt even bother to take pictures of the item.
More credible if he take pics of the item itself, not installed.

 

I am going to check it out. If it is the same guy, I will try to get more of a discount for the club members OK??
