Door Sills

Ok guys here is the message i got back from Hon Yu.com

Thanks for your e-mail. We don't have the Protege MP3, but Protege5 door sill plate with&without E.L. light. Please let us know if you are the importer or personal buyer, because we are the manufacturer, there will be a qantity of minimum order.
Furthermore, we do business with FOB termm , therefore, we will only quote you the unit price.

Please let me know if you are interested in this for real, so i can give this guy a solid count. If your not gonna buy please don't say your in then don't pay (you get the pic).

So what is the price? And how does a group buy work?

Maxx Mazda started a thread, but noone on that thread ever contacted the vendor.

This is probably the first post of vendor contact that I have heard.

Errr, not quite true. Seems that the vendor is away for awhile according to what was in the other tread.

I recieved a reply also.... The price IS right... But shipping / export duties will be a bitch unless there is a group buy...

**********

Due to we are the manufactuer, we could offer you the price just as the price we offer to our domestic trading company:

Protege5 door sill plate with E.L. light ------------- USD$38/set (EX WORK)
Protege5 door sill plate with E.L. light ------------- USD$25/set (EX WORK)

We would like to assist you to arrange the export affairs, but you will pay for the customs duties (USD$160) & freight charge (depends on your pruchasing quantity)

The estimate freight charge:
If we deliver the goods (about 35 cuft ) to Long Beach by Sea freight, the freight charge is about USD$40, and the
arriving date takes 20days. (PS: per set is about 0.7 cuft)
Of course, when the order quantity is too small, we think the freight cost of FedEx will be lower!

Sincerely,
Zoe

I am confused, why are there 2 prices for the same part?

Just wondering if we got someone who is already an importer (i.e. Rishie) to handle this, would the price be any cheaper on the freight? If This would work out, then we can just buy them from Rishie.

But I am in if we get enought people to handle the freight.

Is the "set" of door sills all four of them? What's with the two sets of prices - is that $38 front and $25 rear or something? IMO, it'd be silly to have just the fronts, no matter how cool they look.

It's gonna take a pretty good group buy to offset that $200 extra ($160 duty charges plus $40 shipping) - not to mention the cost of then shipping individually inside the US - these things might wind up being $60+ per set (front OR rear - together, upwards of $100) once all is said and done. at .7 cu/ft each, the 35 cu/ft shipping container is for 50 sets.

I guess we'll see how things pan out - I will keep an eye on the thread, because (like everyone else) I'm in if the price is decent.

How would a group buy work? Or actually how does it work? I am curious on how or who we cut checks for to get these items?

I got the same response, $38 is for all 4 neon sills
$25 is for the one with out the neon. The prices are great, but the shipping is a B$%ch. We need to start a group buy.

Protege5 door sill plate with E.L. light ---------- USD$38/set

Protege5 door sill plate without E.L. light -------- USD$25/set
