Connecting an MP3 player

Ok, I'm clueless when it comes to electronics, but, is it possible to connect my iPod to my head unit?

I have the In-Dash 6-Disc CD Changer. It is capable of having a MiniDisc Player added, and I was hopping that it would be something simple to hook up a MP3 player.

You could add the Mazda tape deck, then get one of those tape/input adapters to connect your player.

I was hoping that it would be more of a direct connection. I really don't want to buy a tape deck just to play an MP3 player.

But thanks anyway
