Onehawaiian, thanks for the mounting depth issue. I asked Van Horn about it and they said that the 3-way fusion speakers (which I wanted for the rear) had a depth of 2.5" and the 2-way had a depth of 2". Since our rear depth is 2" I had to go with the two-way.

I just got back from my vacation in Europe. I went to London, Paris and Ibiza. Anyways, I found all of my FUSION stuff here.. the FP-1404 amp is pretty big... it might not fit under the driver seat. I have a problem... Van Horn sent me the 3-way instead of the 2-way coaxiels... the 3-way have a mounting depth of 2.5", is this going to fit in the rear slot with some mods? I also have the 6.5" components that I was going to have in the front. They only have a mounting depth of 2" which should fit fine for the front. Anyone have any suggestions?
Also for the HU, I went with a Panasonic.

Try the 3-ways up front - I think it's a bit deeper than the rear.

If you have problems, you can always make some MDF adapter plates - 1/2" thick will pull the speaker out enough for you to clear the door, because I think 2" in depth will fit. You'll just ned to trim the "flange" on the inside of the door panel - no big deal.

thanks for the reply.... I was thinking about that.. but then again, I want the components to be up front.. unless.. I just stick with the factory tweeters for the front and use the components in the rear, and the 3-ways for the front..... that seems to be my only option right now.

I didn't realize the three ways were coaxials - maybe I missed something. I can totally understand wanting the comps up front!

Anyway, you should just open the door and see what kind of room you can afford. Maybe an adapter plate in the rear will work okay.

Where can I get an adapter plate so that I could install the 3-way coaxiels in the rear? Their mounting depth is 2.5" so I would need an adapter that would push it out about .5". Thanx.

If they are 6.5" coaxials, you can make an adapter plate - a jigsaw (I actaully used heavy duty Sawzall with a "scroll" blade - works pretty good) and a piece if 1/2" MDF is all you really need.

If the coaxials are 5x7, I'm not sure they'll fit in the rears.

And a "tip" - if you can get your cutting done in one day (should be no problem) and don't care to own a jigsaw, you can rent one, or even buy one from Home Depot and return it the next day - tell 'em it's a piece of crap, and you don't want it - they'll take it back and give you your money.

Just a thought....
