Will the P5 gauge cluster swap right in to a '03 Pro DX dash with little or no modification? Is it just a plug and play type deal? Also. what color do the a/c controls and automatic shift indicator light up in the P5's? I am going for an all red look inside my Pro. Thanks

 

I don't have an auto P5, but everything lights up red except for the little green light on the AC button and the slighty orange rear defrost button...

I think they are a dirrect swap as long as your DX has a tach, which I think it does...You just need to make sure the car you swap from has the same transaxle, becuase non-autos do not have the PRND selector...

One idea that might make this whole thing cheaper is to just take the bulbs from a P5...I think the gauges covers themselves are clear as well the HVAC controls...The color comes from the bulbs having those little colored condom deals...So if you aquire a P5's red condom covered bulbs, you can swap them right into yours...But I am not positive that the color is only controlled by the bulbs so do some more research...

 

No tach in a DX, but based on my experience adding foglights to mine, the wiring's probably all there for it. They seem to include all the wiring whether or not the feature exists on a particular car.

And the "lightbulb condoms" are called gels, fyi.

 

if the connector for the tach is an obstruction he may have to finesse(cut out!!) a recess for it in the cluster.
