Clean and easy Voodoo Magnum **** Install

Just submitting my solution for a clean install for my Voodoo Magnum Pearl Shift **** without having to alter my shift boot (just in case I ever want to put it back to stock later on IF I decide to ever sell my car). My solution was very simple. I bought a 1-3/16" diameter black rubber grommet and cut it in half. After unscrewing the old shift ****, place a thin flat washer on top of the rough finished boot ring, get a piece of PVC tubing, 1/2" in diameter and cut to 3/8" thick and put this into the grommet half. This prevents the grommet from being swished down when you screw the **** down and gives the **** something to tighten down against. This allows the base of the Voodoo Magnum Pearl **** to sit flush above the grommet. Trust me, this is the easiest way without altering the boot and it does look like it came that way. The grommet looks like an original trim piece that sits perfectly on the boot. Total cost and time: $1.29 CAN and 5 minutes. Trust me on this one, it looks better than pulling apart the console, taking out the trim ring, inverting the boot and zip tying it to the shaft and completely hiding the base of the Voodoo ****.

another decent solution to RAISE the boot insted of altering it when you change ***** is to remove the console or at leas the boot IF you can...and put that rubber grommet or a piece of rubber hose the length you want to raise the boot ON the shaft of the shifter, it will set on the 'E' clip that the boot now sits on....and when you put the boot back on it now sits on top of the piece of hose or grommet you put UNDER it...and will raise the shifter boot up to the bottom of your ****...

i'd rather not have mine **** on anything!

the thing i didn't like about the stock plastic ring on the shift boot, is that it is twice as big as the base of the voodoo, and it just didn't look 'clean' to me. eventually, i plan on replacing the boot with something even more 'clean', probably after i get a short shifter.

LOL LOL too funny....guess I was typing faster than I was reading it..... :{D

but its fixed now...

and I guess I know what you mean....that is why I didn't do that on mine either...but then I have a HUGE machine shop that I can use after hours if I want to...and I made a transition piece to go from my new **** to the boot out of stainless steel.....
its not a very good pic, but you get the idea
