MAF, easy to remove and clean?
I have not done this, and I'm getting the check engine light. Code was P0505, idle control, but I recently purchased this car, and they guy had run horrible gas in it and the system is filthy. I cleaned it out, and it runs great, however, this light is coming on occasionally, then a day or so later, it goes off. I'd like to clean the MAF and see if the problem goes away, but I'm not sure where it is, or how to remove it. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Pics would be GREAT!

You don't clean the maf.
Take the idle air control valve off. Its on the bottom of the throttle body. There is a gasket you may need to replace. You might also consider cleaning the throttle body while you're at it. Its easier to get at the IAC off by removing the throttle body. You will also be wise to replace the Throttle body gasket while its off. I used brake cleaner to clean my IAC and Degreaser to clean the TB.

Thanks. I'll give that a try. I found out that the code I was getting was caused by my setting the idle higher than the computer was able to control, therefore, it was reporting that the idle control system had malfuntioned. Once I got some cleaner through the tank, the idle went through the roof, I set the adjustment back down to where it should be, and cleared the code out of the computer, viola, no more code popping up!
Thanks for you help
