Question Carbon Fiber Hood

My Mom would like to buy me one in lieu of my good grades this semester. Has anyone bought one of the Fiber Image hoods? If so, what do you think of it? I'm planning to get one with the red weave, but the picture on Mitch's site is broken. Does anyone have one of red kevlar weave I could show my Mom? She'd like to see it before the purchase is made.

Also, it looks like I'll have to drill holes for the washer nozzles. Is this true, or does it come pre-drilled?

I remember awhile ago there was a debate, but what's the final verdict on hood pins for it? I'm thinking that I'm better safe than sorry, since I my speedo is often above the 140 KM/h mark...

Any help or pictures are greatly appreciated.

In my opinion Carbon Fiber hoods are very cool and sharp looking but beware.... Carbon Fiber is very delicate and will chip and break up much easier than your regular hood, but they look cool , They should come Pre-Drilled but most i seen had to be custom drilled ...

They actually showed a video of one of their hoods being driven over by a car, and it was unharmed except for a few scratches. Carbon Fiber is flexible and as such is able to bend and take alot of the stress instead of breaking.

Yup, My friend got one about a year and a half ago, and it was of very crappy quality. Since then I have noticed the quality go up. They go for around $399 + Tax around here, and I could prolly get one for cheaper because my friend owns a performance shop hehe
