car broken into...need opinions on new ****
Well my car was broken into yesterday and they took my kenwood cd unit and my sony in dash lcd unit. To make a long story short i have theft insurance (with a $500 deductable) So i was wondering if anyone can point me to a good in-dash lcd/mp3 cd deck combination. To give you an idea my kenwood cd deck cost 250 and my in dash lcd cost me 650 so that's what i'm being reimburst for. I HAD a sony XAV-7W and a Kenwood kdcmpv-7019. Also if anyone could tell me how the reimburstment thing works out i would appreciate it thank you.

Wow, that sucks!! And I thought I was having a bad week needing a new alternator! Future advice, if it happens again, see about getting quotes for your **** at retail, not what you paid (which is significantly less) so your insurance can't screw you. I know that sounds like cheating the system, but the system sucks! Sorry to hear about the news.

it's the funniest thing...i grew up in a bad neighborhood...18 years i lived in the getto and i never been robbed...i went to a nice mall in the suburbs and i get robbed in broad daylight! i was only in the mall for 20 mins too. The irony in life is such a beautiful thing.

But in the ghetto, not many people can afford nice **** compared to those in the nicer area where your **** was ripped off. Malls, apartments, and the workplace (if you work for a big corporation) are the prime targets for a thief. Your car is flashy looking which attracted them to it. I admit, it is a cool looking ride, and unfortunately some dickless **** had to rip off your **** that you worked so hard at getting. What kind of price range are you looking at on getting new stuff? Also, are your speakers going to be in use, or were they stolen or plan on being replaced? Just trying to help you figure out what the best you can get for the money. Every one is on a budget nowadays!

i pretty much wanna spend the same amount because that's what my insurance is covering...(That's why i listed what i paid for it because that's what it shows on the receit) i have a pair of infinty reference 5752cf' 5x7's in the front and a pair of boss neo 622 6.5 in the rear deck. I also plan to add a sub and amp.

So you want a head unit, amp, sub, and a LCD for around $1100 total? That is going to be hard to do. Esp. for the LCD, there goes most of the money right there. At least you got your other speakers already there <and not stolen>.

So, $250 deck + $650 LCD = $900. Subtract your deductible ($500), and you'll get a $400 reimbursement check.

You get a check, minus your deductible. Deductible means how much YOU pay.

actually you gotta factor in the broken window(312$) a kenwood aux input adapater and two y cables.....so you figure
250 for kenwood
650 for lcd
312 for window
30 for aux input adapter
12 for 2 y cables
50 for installation of both
--------------------------------
1304 - my 500 deductable=804
I need a good mp3 head unit..subwoofer and amp... i don't want to loose the trunk space so i was thinking of getting a single 12" or maybe even bigger....i'll probably throw the rest of the money back into a pair of rims

so anyone wanna recommend a setup not costing more than 800 bucks....i don't ever wanna buy another head unit or subwoofer again so i want to get something i'll be happy with....guess i should invest in an alarm system too huh (by the way the shitty stock alarm did nothing but go off when I opened the door to get in my car.)

Okay, you can get a EDesigns 12K.44 DVC 12 inch sub (single one) and an amp from Avionax (spelling?) for around $350-400 which includes shipping UPS ground www.edesignaudio.com. As far as your head unit, that leaves you with around $400 to get a good MP3 player like an Alpine or a Kenwood like you had. I would check crutchfield and sounddomain and see if either one or even another site will beat the price of the other to get a really good deal. That'll save you some dough to go towards an alarm. You can check with the dealership, but you may be able to add things such as a shock sensor and you can go to an audio dealership to order a sep. siren. Get Blue LEDZ to fly over to your part of the country, and he'll make you a kick *** box that will make your single 12 sound like a 15 or louder!
