Question In **** For The Woman's Car?

I drive my girlfriend's P5 ALOT! She's usually in the car with me, but about 20% of the time I just take it by myself. I like her automatic for the early mornings when I don't feel like ing. Hell, it's already 11:15 and I'm barely awake yet! My question is this: Can I legally drive her car without getting in ****? I know if I get in an accident, I'm in ****, but if I get a speeding ticket or something, and she's there, can I get into ****? If I'm alone, I'm sure they'll think I stole it or something, but if I get pulled over for speeding or something, and she's there, can I get in more **** for it not being my car?

Hope that made sense... - It's early!

It doesn't matter whose car you're driving man... a speeding ticket isn't linked to the car at all!! As for when she's not there, if the cop's a *****, he'll make you sit in his car till they check on the ownership of the car. But you can't get in any ****... whether she's there or not!

Not sure how things are in Canada, but I believe most Insurance policies cover whomever is driving the car, as long as they are doing so with the knowledge of the owner. She does know you are driving it right? Also, your insurance should cover you incase she doesn't have ins. You cannot get into more **** for it not being your car, unless it is without her knowledge.

The only way you can get in trouble is if she doesn't have insurance. The car must be insured. Doesn't hurt if you carry liability as well. Oh yeah you must have her permission. If you crack up the car, and she says you shouldn't have had it. That's grand theft auto. Other than that, there is no problem. I got pulled over on my brothers motorcycle once for speeding. The ticket goes to the driver not the car. (unless you have photo radar) But that is why photo radar tickets don't carry points. You cant prove who the driver is.
Cheers
Stocker.

Well, in many places they are using cameras to take pictures of speeders and traffic violators, the cars not the drivers, and sending the tickets to them. Because it is the responsibility of the owner of the vehicle to be sure that the car is drivin within the law.

Well, I think you are fine as long as:

1) You have permission from her
2) you have insurance
3) you have a valid license
4) you can produce a copy of your plate portion for the vehicle id when asked

I guess you don't have graduated licenses there, right? 'cause in Ontarion u have to be driving for two years before you can take a car out on your own on 400 type highways.

these are obvious, I know, but I think the most impotant one here is that u have permission from her

You won't be in any more crap than you would be if the car was your car...just don't get into an acccident!

happy drivin'

heya,

well here in alberta (canada) whoever lives in the household has to be listed on your policy UNLESS they have their own insurance and vehicle...BUT if you are to get into a claim and arent listed on their policy as long as they gave you permission to drive you are covered under there policy!!!

ouch, i actually worked..wow...uh yeah have a good one!
