Bumper swap?

Has anyone put the front bumper from the mp3 on the regular sedan, or do you know if it can be done? I like the shape a lot better, but I'm not sure how it would look without skirting on the side.

sorry, I'm new to the car and new to the page... I'm having bad luck finding pictures of it. I just want to see how it looks before I spend money on it.

$$$

I just "finished" doing the conversion it looks great but it will cost you. Here a list of what you need:

1- Front bumper (p5 or mp3)
2-Front rebar (p5 or mp3)
3- Side marker lights(p5 bumper only)
4-Top front grill with mazda logo
5-Bottom front gill
6-Fog lights
7-Front wheel well guards left & right
8-Front under guard
9-Some bolts and clips
10-Time & tools

Or check with Wings West and see if they have finished making the mp3 bumper for sedans only. The biggest problem is the rebar you have to change it if you use Mazda parts, but if Wings West brings out that bumper then you don't have to change it or the wheel well guards that will save you big. Any questions PM me.

Hey dkfracing,

I'm from Canada too. How much did the finished result cost you exactly?

You NEED the top grill as well? I thought it was the same? Do you need the bottom guard as well?? Do the fasteners have to be ordered seperately?

jnorion, refer to my topic. Check this out:

$$$

Cost $1200 cnd and change but it should cost about $1700 I got lucky and got some help from Paul at Jarman Mazda with out him I wouldn't have it at all.

As for the top grill it's to big on the sedans you can't close your hood so you need the other one.

Let me know if you want a break down of cost.

dkf,

I took your advice and looked at the Wings West kit.

http://www.wingswest.com/products_de...page=1&id=1816

Damn, I'll save a good amount going with the WW front end. Thanks for mentioning this dkf, or I'd probably never have thought of it! I owe ya one! Thanks!!

In the meantime, I'm gonna do the 2003 P5 light conversion, with the black housings and probably trade the stockers in somewhere. I think I'm gonna do the front end when my first year of Univ is over, which starts in like 2.5 weeks.

When I asked the dealer for the cost of the parts, it came out to like 1200-1300. Plus, you listed things I didn't know were needed. With tax, shipping costs, painting, I thought it'd be almost $2K...?

Talking $$$

Hey no problem I'm glad to stop anyone else for spend extra cash for nothing, the only thing I would suggest would be before you order anything make sure it's the sedan only kit, not the MP3 only kit. I hope to have some pics soon so I can show you guys what it looks like

The only kit I can find on Wings West is the MPS style, not the MP3. I know they're close, but I like the MP3 a bit better. Is there any option other than buying the MP3 bumper from a dealership?
