black headlights, cheap JDM

LOL. When I did this to my ZX3 headlights I used a hairdryer to heat up the sealant. That took forever. Wish I had thought about baking them. I ended up using clear silicone to seal them back up. Had them on for nine months and they never leaked.

I gotta give it to you man. Those headlights look bad ***. My tailights are blacked out already, and I have a Black P5 so my next project was the headlights. Me and my buddy will go at it probably here in the near future, and leave my car at his house for a while if we don't finish it in one day. So did you use the same glue that was already holding them together to put them back together? or did you use something new? Either way man, your car looks sweet, and I give you props for experimenting on your car so others can follow your lead lol. Peace

Those headlghts are awesome. but when it comes to labor parts, it's pain in the a_ _ .
I had to remove headlight from my car, because my driver's side of headlight was all covered with smoke. Me and ZMZMP5 worked together to clean in out using hydrogen peroxide, but it didn't really work well. we used all kinds of stuff to clean it out, guess what... we fuxked it up.
so we decided to take cover of headlight. it's really pain to seperate those cover from headlight I don't know how eckedoutmp5 did it. but he really did nice job.
so basically i just called local mazda dealer and ordered new headlight and installed.
I will never mess with my headlight never ever!

I'm worried that I might **** them up as well, so I was thinking about ordering me a new set of headlights just incase. Do you know how much they charged you for your one headlight? then obviously times 2 for me to get both lol. Depending on the price for each headlight it might not be worth it for me to risk and mess it up you know what I mean. Anyway, He still did a nice job, and I'm JEALOUS! lol.

I was planning on doing my headlights in the near future. I was going to go to the dealership and get some paint in a can that matches the paint on my car. I think it should be like 11 bucks a can or not, but I'm not sure if that will be to glossy with the headlights? What is your guys's opinions on that? Thanks!

well as you can see my car is bright *** yellow and i was goin to paint i yellow. most all hondas with jdm lights paint them same color in shows and they look killer. most get away with the glossys because of the type of light they are the lensed light instead of bulbs, BUT i think if you use a glossy paint thats bright it will be ok, but if your car color is dark id say no. plus if you want to repaint them paint will stick to flat better than gloss. just my 2 cents.

Sounds like your comment makes sense, not that it wouldn't! But I agree with what your saying. My P5 is black, which I think is as dark as our cars go, so I'll probably stick with the flat black paint and see how it turns out when I get around to it. Right now got a few other things to worry about. Peace.

looks good. i did the same thing...twice. i painted my first pair then someone broke em and put a hole in my bumper with a hammer or something and fucked up my auto exe grill too(thats what i get for parking the street in my moms bad-*** neighboorhood)(it was also one of the only times i forgot to arm my alarm). so i got more and did the same thing. the only differences are that used a heat gun, sanded them down instead of primer and sealed it with marine grade sealant. i to take my whole bumper off to get to my lights too. but its worth it. i also got a mp3 bumper so i dont have those orange bumpre lights.
