If you use a paint cleaner and REALLY scrub hard (using a orbital buffer WILL NOT work unless you are pressing really hard) you will get it out of your paint, but it is pretty pointless to do this since the stains will return within a week. As for Mazda's paint sucking...I don't know about the new cars, but My paint is like almost 10 years old, and its original, and the **** is like new if I polish it. I'm impressed with it actually
I think your problem, Wil, is more related to water spots. From what the others have described, it sounds like airborne contaminants, not water spotting. IMO.
