aftermarket alarm help
My door ajar light is on and stays on dim with the door close or when i'm driving. I'm assuming my aftermarket alarm is powering the light from thru the wire for the door indicator. Does anyone, have this happen. Its bugging me and i dont feel like riping the whole alarm out and inspecting the wires. Any help would be great. Thanks

I havent traced the problem yet, due to bad weather conditions. I'll try this weekend. I'm pretty sure the diode would work, because the door trigger also controls my alarm indicator light. I'm so lazy, i'm a computer/electrical engineering student and i'm here asking for help. LOL i'm a lazy ***. Hey Karen, if i firgure it out i'll drop you a line on how to get rid of it.

the reason i ask is because the exact same thing happend to me as well. i just came back from a trip to vietnam, left my car out in the snow for a month with no one touching it.. The first day i came back to start the car, i see the door ajar light staying on even after checkin every single door! it went on for about a week or so, then the weather got better, and i guess car got used to me driving it everyday, and the light just disappeared!
i'm not sure what the cause of the light to stay on, Maybe from the alarm, but maybe u should try waiting for a bit to see if it does finally shut off..

well with my alarm, dei 564t, the door ajar light stayed on whenever i pulled the fuse for the alarm when i was serviceing my car. with that said that was the only time i noticed that light on, bugged the hell out of me until i relized that that only occurs when the power to the alarm is unplugged
