? about rear speakers

? about rear speakers

When i installed my new pioneer HU the rear factory speakers were fine. however today i was fine tuing my bass and the rears were nto workign. is that due to using a bandpass in my trunk. DID i blow the rear speakers and not notice it. jsut looking for some help. thanks arul

You probably fried the voice coils. I know that the factory speakers can handle, but so much and on top of that, if you were playing the stereo loudly, your deck's amp distorted and fried the voice coil. If you have a voltage meter, you can switch it to "ohms" and connect it to your <blown> speaker terminals, and it should read lower than 4 ohms and you will know for sure that it is blown.

problem sloved

i found out that when i was messing with the HU i switch a setting which killed the rear speakers. oopps. my bad. hehe..
