Question ? about adding more speakers

I was wondering how much of a pain in the *** would it be to add another set of speakers for the doors. Right now im changing the 6x8/5x7" up front and the rear with a 6.5" but how much more work would it be to add another speaker in the front and rear panels ( 4" mid ) Im asuming i will need to make some mdf rings for it and most likely need to make a new hole in the sheet metal. would there be more involved besides more wiring/another amp.

Thanks, Ian

I am not an expert but there is not enough room in the doors. The speakers would be playing off each other. Plus you have the hole cubic inch per speaker thing working against you. That and the doors are not meant to handle that much sound. I haven't done it yet because I'm still doing motor mods but I think a good set of seperates in the front and back doors and a good pair of 6x9s in the back would be more than enough. I changed from Alpines to Infinities front and back and damb what a differance. Its load and clear.

Yeah ^ Better speakers (seperates using the 2002.5 + tweeter locations [minor mod puts 1" in])

plus a good amp and an active crossover to find the exact frequencies for max speaker performance will yield better results than just 'more speakers'.

Get a test cd (plays the frequencies at the same volume) and use it to tune your system. You would probably find that the mids are well covered - it is the mid-bass that needs more umph. And that means 6" speakers....

Yeah I already replaced the stock tweeters (The dremel is the best tool ever made) and i have a "pink noise" cd for testing recording studio monitors so the test cd is covered. im still working on getting the goddamn rear door handle off though. once that off i can get my rears in and see how it sounds. then ill be buying another audiobahn amp ( A6601T ) and decide what i should do with my A8000T
