'99-'00 Vs '01+ noise levels?

Has anyone compared the '99-'00 Proteges to the '01+ models as fas as interior noise level? I've made several upgrades to the suspension of my '00 ES, and I notice the noise level in the interior gets annoying. I came home after work today and stripped the interior to prepare for sound deadening application this weekend. I bought 35 sq. ft. of Brown Bread sound deadener from this place. http://www.b-quiet.com/brownbread.html I'll take before and after SPL measurements to test it's effectiveness.

Sorry to hear about your rattles. Personally, the only noises I here are from the right rear of the car. I've only heard it since I lowered the car. It occurs when I hit bumps; no biggie.

Question Possible Noise Source!

Hey Eric!

This may not be it, but my '01 Pro used to have a squeak from the back of the car when going over bumbs and the like-- I found it was the particle board flooring rubbing on the metallic back of the trunk. I just repositioned the flooring a bit and, voila! No more squeak.

Just a thought!

Sorry, I should have been more descriptive. I don't have any problems with noise emanating from inside the car, just outside. Things like tire noise, a little wind noise, and panel resonance from the stiffer tires and suspension. OK, I guess that last one is coming from inside the car somewhat. I've heard the '01+ Proetegs additional weight comes primarily from sound deadening, and that they are much quieter inside than the '99-'00 Pros. I'm just wondering if anyone has compared them directly.
