The FAQ is a good place to start. Also, use the search function on this board, you'll find a lot of information that way also. Lowering springs will be stiffer than stock to keep the car from bottoming out the suspension at the lower ride height. The stiffer springs make the stock struts work harder at damping the movement of the springs. This will wear out the stock struts faster. Also, the ride will suffer with stiffer springs and stock shocks for the same reason. The stock struts can't damp the stiffer springs effectively. It is better to match lower, stiffer springs with stiffer or adjustable struts for the best ride, handling and life of the parts. It isn't absolutely necessary if you are most interested in looks. Most people get lowering springs without struts. All it will do is shorten the life of your stock struts. It's impossible to say how much.

Most likely im gonna go with the eibachs. what kinda struts should i get along with them. do i really even need em? cant i just use stock ones? im pretty sure ill be running 18's if that makes a difference and its my daily driver. what are the various options i have? i did a search, didnt find much. thanks people

Or just get the JIC coilovers and get true adjustability. Includes all your strut mounts, pillow front and rear or rigid in the rear. Good ****. Coming Soon, like this month if interested.
Basic setup will be like $1300.00 and full blown is $1700.00

to all p5 owners who have their's lowered
I want to know what springs or coilovers everyone has on the p5. I put the ground control coilovers on mine and they do not fit right and they are very noisy. Does anyone have any suggestions on what brand to go with so they will fit right and not be noisy. Mine pop and rattle in the front and back. If anyone could give me some suggestions and let me know what yall have on yours that would be appreciated!

I got H&R's on mine. They are sweet springs, stiff ride, and quiet. When say I stiff, I don't mean all bouncy and violent and ****, you just feel the road more, and plus my 40 series tires, probably add to the stiffness as well. I like mine but I was actually thinkin about taking a coil out of them, just cause I want it a little lower in the front, and plus I got a pretty big stereo Im puttin in the back, and I want the car to sit level. I'll trade ya my H&R's for your GC's
