strut bar vs stabilizer bar

strut bar and stabilizer?
Where does stabilier go?

Will the stabilier that sell on mazdastuff.com work on PR5?

Thanks.

The stabilizer bar kit will fit any 3rd gen Protege, including the Protege 5. Please use the search to find more specific information. This has been discussed before. Also, be more specific with the title of the thread so people know what the content of the thread is before they open it.

jecht, you SHOULD have a strut tower bar/brace already on your P-5, they come stock with them......its the RED bar that goes from one side of your engine compartment to the other.

Yes, I noticed it comes with a strut bar. However, I always thought they are stabilier, apparently they aren't. I'll do a search on the thread and look into it.

Thanks for the replies

The strut bar mounts at the top of the strut towers and ties those chassis points together reducing or elimanting flex at this point. The sway bar mounts to the frame at two points and the the suspension at the ends of the bar. This ties the two sides of the suspension together only when they try to move in different directions. It has the effect of reducing body roll when turning.
