question on powdercoating wheels

hello,

just wanted to know if anyone has there wheels powdercoated, i'm planning to get mine done with a gunmetal finish, but my main concern is about balancing the wheels. even if i decide to go with the stick weights, rather than the contemporary weights, wouln't i still run the risk of damaging the coating.??

any thoughts?

nah, let me know when you want to get them done because I can powdercoat them for you.

only the facial surface of the rim is powdercoated. Sticky weights that are used to dynamic balance are stuck on the inside of the wheel and it's not coated there. you won't have any problems.

If you want them powdercoated, just let me know. I'll give forum members a break of $250+shipping on all four.

ya that is a good deal, i bought my FD rims already powder coated and they were powdercoated through and through, which is nice because there wont be any way for them to flake off since it is REALLY hard to chip powder coat... and roddimus, do you do the powdercoating out of your house? or do you have a contact that cuts you a deal?

Tempting, but I've got to get to work while the wheels are getting powder coated!

I've always thought that the stock rims would look great powdercoated black on my silver P5. But then I'm stuck in a quandry, because I paid extra for the polished alloys, and I've already told myself that the next free two hundred and fifty bucks is going towards a header...

Roddimus, got any pictures of a Protege sitting on your powder coated wheels?
